Samsung QN32Q50RAFXZA 32-inch QLED 4k Smart TV Review

Samsung 32 inch smart 4K TV Buy on Amazon

Looking for the best/cutest 32 inch TV for your bedroom, office, kitchen or a  32 inch which can also serve as a good PC monitor for video editing, photo editing and for playing PC games or PS4,ps5??? if yes, don’t think twice, go for the SAMSUNG QN32Q50RAFXZA Flat 32″ QLED 4K 32Q50 Series Smart TV.  It is the best 32 inch TV on the market and the only model that supports 4k (as of December, 2020).

One of the reasons why Samsung 32 inch 4K HDR TV is currently the most sought after 32 inch TV on the market, is  its beautiful picture and decent sound.

Picture Quality

The picture quality is amazing i.e. it is SO crisp you literally feel like you are there on set with the actors. The detail is incredible!.  I can read small text without my glasses!

Whites are nice and bright, blacks are nice and dark. Colors pop and the picture overall is just so great and clean, and I am sure that’s due to the Quantum Dot, QLED technology Samsung incorporated in this TV. Good upscaling of non-4K content: Much streaming content is still less than 4K, but Samsung does a good job upscaling.  It makes everything pop right off the screen as if it’s 3D. Especially old 70 mm movies…even out of the box with no configuration all I did was disable auto brightness. I find setting the Picture Mode to Natural being the best for whatever reason.

This 32″ Smart QLED 4K Flat HDTV manufactured by Samsung is standout excellence!

I would bet money that most or all of the people complaining that it’s too dim is because they didn’t turn off “Eco Solution” mode, which is enabled by default. Eco Solution mode automatically dims the screen to reduce power consumption and also based on your room’s ambient light. I turned everything off in that section of the settings and this TV is plenty bright. I have zero complaints about the picture. Colors are vivid, the image is sharp, contrast is good. Make sure you turn the picture on Dynamic on the settings menu.

Sound Quality

Sound is actually quite good considering the size of the TV

I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality from a set this thin. Sound out of the tv speaker is pretty decent. Not remotely close to a sound bar, but not bad.

Samsung 32 in 4k TV is equipped with 20W RMS speakers which outputs pretty decent sound but not up to a sound bar, or a high end system. If you are just using the TV speakers in a small room like I am i.e. you wont need a sound bar.

And I paired this TV with a Bose Quietcomfort 35II bluetooth headset to use in the exercise room – installation was a breeze.

Build Quality

The build quality is very nice, with what looks like a brushed metal frame, the bezel is thin. This TV is absolutely a Fashion statement in smaller TV group.

Inputs & Outputs

  • 3 HDMI ports
  • 1 Ethernet port
  • 2 USB Ports (v 2.0)
  • 1 Digital Audio Output (Optical) for sound bar
  • 1 Composite Input (AV)

Pros

  • TV has a great picture and is plenty bright
  • Decent sound
  • Elegant design
  • Easily Connects to the internet as its a smart TV.
  • Samsung 32 inch smart TV is equipped with Google assistant, Amazon Alexa, Samsung’s Bixby and Apple Airplay support. As a smart TV, its also equipped with lots of streaming apps.
  • Bluetooth works effectively. You can easily connect a Bluetooth headset so you can watch movies or play games without disturbing others.

Samsung includes a bunch of free channels and tv shows/movies if you have a Samsung account, which was a nice unexpected bonus as I already had an account. I watch local channels, the Samsung-included channels, and stream video with Amazon Prime, Netflix and Apple TV, and everything is good.

Cons

  • Sound is modest, and not up to a sound bar, or a high end system. However, you can’t expect much out of TV speakers. If you want Home theatre effect in any TV, buy a sound bar or you can get a small Bluetooth speaker like the oonze
  • Picture quality is good but not up to the picture quality of LG OLED 4k TVs. In other words, it’s not a real competitor to OLED technology, it’s a just a gimmick.
  • The viewing angle: the viewing angle isn’t as great as IPS displays. This is most noticeable around the task bar area, especially if you need to look down. However you are not going to be watching this TV from the side most of the time. Since this is a 32 inch TV Chances are that you are probably going to be interacting with this TV pretty much straight on.
  • Pricey for a TV but the only 32inch 4K quality TV on the market.
  • We don’t even have the bandwidth to get a 4K picture
  • This is not a good PC monitor because it is only capable of 30hz over HDMI at 4k. If you’re looking for a 32″ 4k smart TV.
  • Samsung 32 inch 4K TV is not so great on PC games given its 60Hz connection via HDMI, it’s probably not the best display for playing PC games.. I tried a few PC games and looks terrible compared to my Acer 1440P 144hz. However, as mentioned this does not disappoint when it comes to console games.

Note: When playing video games, i don’t recommend turning on Game Mode as it lowers picture quality. I do recommend setting Auto Motion Plus on (set to Auto). Increases the framerate of games and TV.

  • The remote control is absolutely NOT intuitive. I have had to look up how to use the remote on Google more times that I can remember. Not your average remote you need to push up or down the buttons for channels or volume and it is a learning curve not to get the guide instead. The remote with its “Bixby” voice feature is a bit troubled at times and I’ve had to hunt around the Internet to troubleshoot it, but all is well now.

The user interface has a learning curve but isn’t too bad once you get used to it. It’s responsive, and I can do everything I need to do with just the remote, although most people would probably prefer the remote had a physical numpad on it for changing channels.

If you are finding it difficult to use the  SAMSUNG QN32Q50RAFXZA remote, you can purchase a regular Samsung remote. It worked fine and was much simpler.

  • The v shaped legs that come with it are so far apart and  isn’t adjustable in any way (no height/tilt adjustment), which leaves a lot of room for improvement. Samsung took the pedestal setting out of the center of the tv so the legs have to go on the ends.

I recommend buying a different stand for it. I had no choice but to do that to fit it on my smallish entertainment center thing (an old microwave cart I repurposed). If you have a small table to set it on be sure you measure. And the screw holes on the back of tv are metric and hard to find so if you decide to get another stand be sure the screws fit.

However if you are going to use it on a wall mount, this shouldn’t be an issue to worry about. However Samsung didn’t include 4 screws to attach the TV to a wall mount and the screw holes on the back of tv are metric and hard to find so if you decide to get another stand be sure the screws fit.

  • Does not come with the wall mount screws. This is not an inexpensive TV. Too bad the manufacturer does not include the screws needed to attach it to wall mount. However you can easily get them at your hardware store.

As a result, if you want to mount this tv you will have to order the screws for it separately (M3 Mounting Screws IL are what you want). The mounting holes are also much higher than they are on most TVs to help complicate things.

Finally, for people wondering about VESA mounting, it’s a 100×100 vesa mount plate. I used M4 x 25mm cap head screws with washers and it’s fine. When screwing the screws in, take your time and don’t overtighten.

The correct screw is M4 .70 pitch 19-22mm with a flat washer and your tv mount.

  •  Lacks any directions or manuals so installation can be challenging.

All in all (despite its cons) I would highly recommend you to try it out if you are in the market for a small size TV with excellent picture quality plus it’s the only 32 inch 4K TV on the market.

Picture, sound, craftsmanship, features and look make this set a great pick for consumers seeking the complete package in a 32″ screen television. The price, mind you may be double what most 32″ HDTVs cost but it proves worth the extra investment—it certainly gives you the bang-for-your-buck!.

If you’re considering a 32″ 4K TV this should be tops on your list i.e. if you want a 32” size display that is eye candy, this is a must have! Everything is top notch display and TV in one!

Perfect for small spaces like my kitchen

Perfect size for a small room or even a large PC monitor

preview monitor for video editing

It’s a great TV for gaming with PS3,PS4, PS5 (may not be suitable for PC gaming).Games look phenomenal on my PS4 with 1080p HDR enabled. TV is also awesome good for gaming with Xbox one.
